Real Housewives' Jenna Lyons confirms engagement to Cass Bird

Real Housewives of New York City (RHONY) star Jenna Lyons has confirmed her engagement to photographer Cass Bird.

Gay business magnate Lyons became RHONYs first openly gay star when the season 14 premiere began in July.

She revealed the news about her relationship during an episode of Sherrion Tuesday (October 15) and was joined by co-star Racquel Chevremont, who spoke about her own engagement to forensic neuropsychologist Mel Corpus.

During the show, Lyons was asked about the ring she was wearing. “I think you nailed it, Jenna, if that’s an engagement ring,” said host Sherri Shepherd.

“Yes, yes. When we were in the (jewelry) store, I thought, ‘That’s not big enough. Let’s (keep looking),” she joked. The fashion designer and former director of J Crew revealed in an article in the New York Times in June last year that she was in a relationship with Bird.

Rumors of a possible engagement have been circulating for about a year, after Lyons shared a photo of herself and Bird cozying up together, the large diamond ring nearly dominating the frame.

Lyons was ‘traumatically’ exposed as a lesbian by the New York Post in 2011, during her divorce from artist Vincent Mazeau. They were married for nine years.
