Rolls-Royce owner in China rejects trucker compensation, upset by online fame claims

A Rolls-Royce owner in China has refused compensation to a truck driver after a minor collision, but has been left disheartened by claims she faked the incident to gain online fame.

Recently, in Guangzhou, southern China, a truck swerved and unexpectedly collided with a pink Rolls-Royce worth more than 6 million yuan ($830,000).

The car’s owner, surnamed Zhu, calmly took a selfie in front of the damaged hood and posted it on her social media with the caption: “Since I can’t change it, I’ll accept it.”

The police later found the truck driver fully responsible. Zhu’s husband noted that repair costs remain uncertain as the car is currently in a workshop.

Zhu mentioned that the truck driver, surnamed Li, had only 1 million yuan in insurance coverage, which would likely be insufficient for repair costs.

On November 7, Zhu posted a video on Douyin, announcing her decision not to seek any compensation from the truck driver and that she would cover the repair costs herself.
