King’s College staffer resigns over alleged ‘inappropriate online activity’: reports

“The staff member has resigned with immediate effect today,” the statement said, as quoted by Radio New Zealand.

School officials clarified that the inappropriate activity did not involve a King’s College student, and that it was also the first time they had been made aware of the employee’s behavior.

Still, school officials urged parents to talk to their children about the news.

“The council takes these types of matters very seriously,” said the statement as quoted by the Herald. “As a priority, we need to understand if any of our students have any concerns they would like to raise with us as a result of this information, and we will ensure they receive the necessary support.”

“We would appreciate it if you could take the opportunity tonight to talk to your child about any concerns they may have in light of this information.”
