CULLMAN, Ala. (WAFF) – A Cullman man was sentenced to more than two years in prison for sending messages threatening election workers in 2022.

Brian Jerry Ogstad, 60, was arrested in February 2024 for threatening election workers during Maricopa County elections in Phoenix, Arizona from August 2 to 4, 2022, during and after the state’s primary elections.

Ogstad sent direct messages to a social media account operated by Maricopa County Elections.

Some messages read as follows:

  • ‘You did it! Now you’re f*****..Dead. You will all be executed for your crimes.”
  • …you better not come to my church or my business or send your children to my school. You’re damn stupid if you think your life is safe.”

An image he sent to election workers also showed Toy Story character “Woody” face down with an unknown projectile in his back.
