A damaged bridge will close the passage to all vehicles for five days for repairs.

Cumberland City Council said Sebergham Bridge will be closed so its parapet can be repaired.

The authority said a section of the B5305 will be closed to traffic, including emergency vehicles, from November 18.

A signposted diversion route will be established and waste collection will also be affected.

Although the works will be carried out during the day, the road will remain closed to traffic throughout the period, according to the city council.

Missed waste collection will resume next week.
