Convicted felon convicted of stealing and crashing a rental car on the Big Island

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A 51-year-old Puna man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

John Rapozo pleaded guilty to stealing a Chevy Camero from a Rent-a-Car center in Kona and crashing it in 2022.

He also pleaded guilty to possession of meth and a gun without serial numbers.

Ropozo had 38 previous convictions when he was arrested.
