Box sentenced to life in prison for murder in 2021 in Henderson County

HENDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. – In Henderson County, Gabriel Seth Box, who was convicted of first-degree murder and other charges earlier this year, was sentenced.

On August 30, a Henderson County jury convicted Gabriel Seth Box on four different counts, including the first-degree murder of Felicity Nicole Inman in 2021. Before Judge Donald Allen announced his sentence, Felicity’s mother and father took the stand.

‘Because what you did is indescribable. I don’t understand. I don’t understand. I can’t imagine how one human being could take the life of another human being in such a cowardly way,” said April Inman, Felicity’s mother.

Box was charged with first-degree murder, theft of a firearm and two counts of tampering with evidence. Judge Allen Box handed down his sentence at around 12:55 on Monday afternoon.

‘Count one: life imprisonment. He will be sentenced to life imprisonment for the premeditated murder of Miss Inman. Under current law, this is equivalent to a prison sentence of 60 years. And I think under current law that is a minimum of 51 calendar years,” Judge Allen said.

Box also received two additional years for the theft of a firearm, and six years each for both tampering charges. In the pre-sentencing questionnaire, Judge Allen said Box only wrote a quote: “Didn’t do it.”

According to a press release from District Attorney Jody Pickens, Box initially claimed that Inman shot himself before forensic evidence proved otherwise.
