Choreographer Remo D’Souza and his wife Lizelle D’Souza are at the center of a controversy after being accused of fraud worth Rs 11.96 crores by a dance troupe. However, the couple has firmly denied the allegations and urged the public and media not to spread rumors until the facts are clarified.

On Sunday, Remo and Lizelle took to their Instagram accounts to issue a joint statement in response to the viral news. They expressed their disappointment about the media reports and emphasized that no concrete facts have been established. Their statement read:

“It has come to our attention through media reports that a complaint has been registered alleging fraud in relation to a particular dance group. It is disheartening that such information has been published. We would like to request everyone to refrain from spreading rumors before establishing the true facts. .”

The couple also assured their supporters that they will continue to cooperate with authorities. “We will make our case in due course and will continue to cooperate with the authorities in all possible ways, as we have done so far,” the statement said. In closing, they thanked their fans for their continued support: “We would like to thank our family, friends and fans for the outpouring of love and continued support.”

The charge of fraud of Rs 11.96 Crores

The accusation against Remo and Lizelle stems from a complaint filed by a 26-year-old dancer at the Mira Road police station. The dancer claims that he and his company were defrauded of Rs 11.96 crores between 2018 and July 2024. Police have launched an investigation into the matter and the matter is currently under investigation.
