Two Modack men arrested for drugs in court

Two associates of alleged underworld leader Nafiz Modack appeared in court on Friday after being found in possession of 30 grams of tik at the Western Cape High Court the previous day.

Ziyaad Poole appeared at the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court alongside Moegamat Toufeeq “Bubbles” Brown on drug charges after they were captured by the Hawks while attending the underworld trial.

Bubbles allegedly obtained the drugs from an attorney in the courtroom before the lunch break. During a search of the cells, officers reportedly found the drugs, which were hidden in a container used for flu medicine.

However, their lawyer Nazier Parkar has vehemently denied any involvement and withdrawn from the case as the situation was intolerable.

According to the complaint, the duo was found in possession of 30 grams of tik and the case was adjourned until November 12 so Bubbles could appoint an attorney.

The two are currently being held at Pollsmoor Prison.

According to a Daily Voice source, drugs are often smuggled from courts to prisons in the Western Cape.

“Many bandits use their time at court to work. Those drugs are normally staged (inserted into the anus or vagina) and brought into prison. Drugs inside cost double what you pay on the outside. In Pollsmoor it only costs one gram about R300 or R400,” says the source.

During the trial, Poole was exposed as Modack’s alleged middleman.

Captain Edward Du Plessis of the National Task Team told the court that Zane Killian’s bail application had shed light on Poole’s involvement, stating that on the day Kinnear was shot and killed, Poole had called Killian and instructed him to destroy body. telephone.

According to the state’s case, Bubbles is alleged to have helped orchestrate the attempted murder of attorney William Booth while he was in prison.
