Man shot to death outside Dollar General store; police seek help from public

A man was shot to death in the parking lot of the Dollar General store in Milford, NH, on Thursday night, and authorities are now asking for the public’s help in finding those responsible for the homicide, authorities said.

Police rushed to the store at 70 Wilton Road around 8:26 p.m. Thursday after a 911 caller reported gunshots had been fired outside the store, prosecutors said.

“Upon arriving at the address, responding officers discovered evidence of multiple gunshots in the parking lot. “Investigators were led to the rear of the property where they found a deceased adult male, who appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound,” Formella’s office said Friday.

The man’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and an autopsy by the state medical examiner’s office, scheduled for Friday, Attorney General John M. Formella’s office said in a statement.

Formella’s office, which is leading the homicide investigation, said they need the public’s help to catch the man’s killer.

“Investigators are asking for the public’s help. “Anyone who was in the area of the Dollar General at 70 Wilton Road in Milford and who was in the parking lot or saw or heard the gunshots” was asked to contact the State Police Major Crimes Unit.

Prosecutors specifically hope to speak with people who have not yet been interviewed by investigators.
