Anniston City Council will consider changing polling location

ANNISTON, Alabama (WBRC) – Anniston City Council is considering moving one of its polling locations.

Jackson Hodges with the city of Anniston says this move is due to population growth in the city.

On Nov. 19, the city of Anniston will have a public hearing to hear your input on a plan to potentially move one of the polling locations to District 2.

Hodges says the polling place will be moved from Shelter II of Our Lord Jesus Christ Church at the Anniston Fire Training Center. He says this move is part of a plan to balance each district to address growth in those areas.

“Your local election may be the most important and we will have the Anniston City Council and the city school board in August 2025, so we are doing all of this well in advance and we definitely want everyone to know that when all the information together, we will get it to everyone. “We’re looking at direct mail,” Hodges said.

Hodges is encouraging the community to mark their calendars and get out and participate in local elections. you can visit Anniston.gov for more information.
