Woman charged after officers attack during elder abuse arrest

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A woman is behind bars after she allegedly abused an elderly person and attacked several law enforcement officers during her arrest.

Pettis County, Missouri, Circuit Court Records filed Monday, Nov. 4, have revealed that Sarah E. Setzer, 34, of Green Ridge, has been charged in connection with elder abuse. She has been charged with two counts of assault, abuse of an elder and resisting or interfering with arrest.

He Pettis County Sheriff’s Office indicated that on November 3, law enforcement officers were called to a residence with reports of abuse of an elderly adult. When they arrived, they discovered Setzer had punched an elderly man in the face twice.

When law enforcement officers attempted to arrest Setzer, they said she kicked one of them while continuing to fight and threaten in an attempt to avoid arrest.

As of Thursday, Nov. 7, Setzer remains behind Pettis County bars on $5,000 bond. No hearings have yet been scheduled in the case.
