One dead, one seriously injured in multi-vehicle crash in Butler County

QULIN, Mo. (KFVS) – One man was killed and another was seriously injured following a multi-vehicle crash in Butler County Thursday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Accident Report, the accident took place around 5:40 a.m. on Wednesday, November 7. The crash site was on MO 53, one mile south of Qulin, Missouri.

The accident occurred when a 2006 Ford Escort rear-ended a John Deere tractor. The Ford then crossed the center of the road and collided with a 2021 Buick Encore.

The driver of the Buick, a 64-year-old Poplar Bluff man, was pronounced dead at the scene by Butler County Coroner Jim Akers at 6:13 a.m. The man was transported to the Butler County Morgue.

The driver of the Ford, a 69-year-old Malden man, was also seriously injured in the crash. He was transported by EMS to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

The driver of the John Deere tractor was not injured.

According to the Highway Patrol, everyone was wearing safety devices at the time of the accident.
