Billy Baldwin and his wife Chynna Phillips live in separate homes and cities

Billy Baldwin and his wife, Chynna Phillips, believe they have solved the riddle of maintaining a happy, healthy marriage, and the secret is living apart.

The couple prepares to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary in 2025 and got personal about their unconventional living situation, revealing that they not only live in separate houses, but also stay in different area codes.

Singer Wilson Phillips, 56, detailed his housing situation in a video published on his YouTube channel on Sunday, November 3.

“Billy and I are in this new kind of agreement that is really working for me. “I don’t know if it works for Billster, but I’m really happy with what we’re doing,” Phillips joked. “Basically, it’s not structured at all…let me explain.”

He continued: “I said to Billy, ‘Look, why don’t we do a little test to see what it’s like to have me in Santa Barbara, you in Beverly Hills, and then we change our minds.’ Then, in between, we have date nights together, do therapy, have dinner with the kids, and go to the beach or the museum.”

For reference, Santa Barbara is approximately 100 miles from Beverly Hills and over a two-hour drive without traffic.

Baldwin, 61, and Phillips said “I do” in 1995. The couple share three children: daughters Jameson, 24, and Brooke, 19, and son Vance, 22.

The “Hold On” singer shared that while the married duo “have sleepovers and stuff,” they don’t “force themselves to be subject to each other’s energy 24/7.”

Phillips revealed that Baldwin “is a little more reticent about the whole thing,” but was willing to give their separate living situation a try.

Later in the video, she calls her husband, who appears on screen via FaceTime.

“I think we’ve discovered something,” Phillips told Baldwin in the footage. “I really do, because we enjoy each other’s company. It’s very difficult to tell people that we are madly in love, that we really enjoy being together, that we cherish our marriage, and that we never want to be apart. We just need a little time apart because we’re kind of allergic to each other. And that’s fine. “I’m sure a lot of different couples have allergies to each other.”

Baldwin didn’t necessarily agree, telling him, “The reality is, you have an allergy, I have a certain energy that makes you feel…look, your back just got pinched.” He added: “You do things that, you know, sometimes mess with my energy.”

Phillips also joked about the Ten Commandments and laughed that she will “submit” to her husband when he is around.

“Where in the Bible does it say I have to live under the same roof 24/7 with my husband? Can you please find that scripture for me?” she asked. “I mean, I have to take care of him, I have to be kind to him, I have to be gentle with him. I have to obey him or, as they say, submit.”

And he adds: “I will present it when I am around.”

They have been open about the struggles in their union, revealing earlier this year that they split for six months after having a “difficult heart-to-heart relationship.”

In March, The Post obtained photos of Baldwin and Phillips who appeared to be locked in a heated conversation.

Despite the ups and downs, Phillips credited open communication and faith for getting him through the storm.

“The Christianity aspect has been an obvious topic for a while because (religion) has taken over my life in many ways. Maybe it’s even made you question whether you and I can really make it in the long run,” he told Baldwin in a separate video shared in February.

Baldwin responded: “But I still absolutely love you, adore you and support you completely. That’s why I’m sitting here now. That’s why we go to church together. That’s why we pray together. “That’s why we talk about faith together, that’s why I do this for you… It’s because I’m a loving, understanding husband who adores his wife and wants to spend the rest of my life with you, without a doubt.”
