He’s back: Donald Trump 2.0.

We are all still grappling with what that means: for the special relationship, for Ukraine, for trade, for climate change.

Trump is the most unpredictable of politicians.

The usual rules of diplomacy do not apply, so despite the warm words, number 10 will be worried.

He is a politician who leads not with his head, not even with his heart, but with his gut, and there is another reason why this time I think he will be even more unpredictable.

The first time he was president, he was an outsider, but those around him were members of the establishment right.

This time, the new brothers are on board: JD Vance, Dana White, Elon Musk.

I am fascinated by Musk’s relationship with Trump. X, and by extension its owner Musk, has enormous influence over its 500 million users, and even more so because there are many journalists there too.

If you spend enough time there, it will influence what you think a story is and what you think people are talking about.

In fact, the entire media landscape is very different from last time: podcasts, YouTube channels, create a supportive ecosystem to amplify Trump’s message.

And let’s not forget that the Republicans have taken control of the Senate and things are also looking promising in the House of Representatives, which is important legislatively.

We could be about to see Donald Trump unleashed.
