Amari Cooper and Christian Benford return

A series of wrist injuries has hampered buffalo bills.

Rookie receiver Keon Coleman and defensive end Dawuane Smoot suffered wrist injuries in the second half of the Buffalo game. fascinating 30-27 victory over the Miami Dolphins.

That brings the team’s total wrist injuries to five. Wide receiver Amari Cooper and cornerback Christian Benford were out due to wrist injuries against the Dolphins. Rookie defensive tackle DeWayne Carter is on injured reserve after undergoing wrist surgery. Carter is eligible to return in Week 13.

McDermott said Cooper, Benford and fullback Reggie Gilliam are considered day-to-day.

The bills (7-2) travel to face the Indianapolis Colts (4-5) at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Indianapolis starting offensive tackle Bernhard Raimann remains in the NFL’s concussion protocol to open the week. Did not play in Week 9.

The Colts have 11 players on injured reserve.

NFL teams must submit a report on participation in Wednesday, Thursday and Friday practices for a Sunday game. There are three levels of participation in practice that can be designated: did not participate, limited participation, and full participation.

A game status report is due by 5 pm Friday for Sunday games.

Buffalo Bills Injury Update for Week 10

Keon Coleman, WR, wrist

Keon Coleman injured his right wrist after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit from Dolphins safety Jordan Poyer on the Bills’ game-winning drive. Poyer was called for a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty on the hit, which fumbled the ball on a deep pass attempt by Josh Allen. The penalty extended Buffalo’s drive, allowing a 61-yard field goal by Tyler Bass for the 30-27 victory.

Coleman held his wrist as he walked toward the bench. He headed to the locker room in the final seconds and was wearing a wristband after the game.

The rookie receiver underwent an MRI on Monday.

Amari Cooper, WR, wrist

Amari Cooper missed Week 9 against the Dolphins with a wrist injury.

He hurt his wrist the week before in Seattle and participated on a limited basis before the Miami game. Cooper arrived at Highmark Stadium on Sunday with a bandage around his wrist and was among the Bills’ inactives.

Cooper has five receptions for 69 yards and touchdowns in two games since he was acquired through trade by Buffalo.

McDermott said Cooper is considered day-to-day.

Christian Benford, CB, doll

Christian Benford missed the exciting Week 9 win over Miami due to a wrist injury he suffered in pregame practice. He participated on a limited basis in practice all week and entered the Dolphins game as questionable, but was inactive.

Benford has 35 tackles, one interception and four passes defensed in eight games.

State: Full participant on Wednesday.

Reggie Gilliam, FB, hip

Reggie Gilliam was ruled out for Week 9 with a hip injury.

State: Limited Participant Wednesday

Kaiir Elam, CB, shoulder

Kaiir Elam He left briefly with a shoulder injury against the Dolphins. Elam gave up a completion to Tyreek Hill and it landed on his shoulder while tackling Hill to the ground along the sideline.

Elam saw extended playing time replacing Christian Beford. elam played 58 of 61 plays95%, and the only three that were missing were to be evaluated for the shoulder. He made five tackles and recovered a Raheem Mostert fumble on the Dolphins’ first possession of the second half.

Elam told reporters after the game that his shoulder had to be put back into place before returning to the game.

Dawuane Smoot, DE, doll

Dawuane Smoot heads to injured reserve with a wrist injury and will undergo surgery, Bills coach Sean McDermott said Monday.

Smoot exited the Week 9 game against the Dolphins. They took him to the locker room for x-rays and took him out.

Smoot, 29, signed a one-year, $2.5 million contract. deal with bills in the low season. He missed the first two games of the year with a toe injury. He has 12 tackles, 1.5 sacks and 1 forced fumble in 2024.

Casey Toohill, DE, knee

Casey Toohill left on the first play of the first quarter against the Miami Dolphins but returned five plays later.

State: Full participant on Wednesday.

Dorian Williams, LB, knee

Dorian Williams went to the medical tent and was evaluated for a concussion early in the third quarter against the Dolphins, but was cleared to return. Williams played 53 of 61 defensive snaps and had a team-high 12 tackles. He has 84 tackles, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery in his second season.

State: Full participant on Wednesday.

Terrel Bernard, LB, ankle/pectoral

Terrell Bernard returned in Week 9 to make eight tackles in the win over the Dolphins after missing one game with an ankle injury.

Bernard suffered two injuries in the Week 7 win against the Tennessee Titans. Bernard was playing his third straight game after missing Weeks 3 and 4 with a pectoral strain.

He was evaluated for a concussion in the second quarter and returned to the field to start the second half. Bernard injured his right ankle in the third quarter. Offensive lineman Dillon Radunz stepped on Bernard’s foot while attacking the quarterback. He fell on his back and grabbed his right ankle after the play. Bernard left with the sports trainers and entered the medical tent. He jogged and stretched on the bench before the fourth quarter to test his ankle, but walked to the locker room and was demoted to out for the rest of the game.

Curtis Samuel, WR, pectoral

Curtis Samuel played against the Dolphins but went without a sack. He was the only active Bills wide receiver or tight end without a catch in the win.

Samuel missed Week 8 with a pectoral injury.

samuel suffered the injury in the first quarter of Week 7 and was then ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Samuel started a moving play out of the backfield on the Bills’ second possession. Josh Allen’s pass intended for Samuel was deflected at the line of scrimmage. Samuel turned and reached for the ball with his right arm before falling onto his right side. Samuel made it to the bench, but he knelt and was examined by medical trainers before entering the medical tent. He went to the locker room with a coach and did not return.

Bernhard Raimann, overtime, concussion

Bernhard Raimann is in the NFL’s concussion protocol. The left tackle suffered a concussion in Week 8. He played the entire game but reported symptoms after the loss to the Houston Texans.

Raimann did not practice last week and was inactive during Week 9’s Sunday Night Football loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

Rookie third-round pick Matt Goncalves made his starting debut in Raimann’s place.

Kwity Paye, DE, hamstring

Kwity Paye was listed as questionable for Week 9, but played against the Minnesota Vikings. Paye played 52 of 73 defensive snaps (71.2%) and recorded two tackles and a sack.
