Lil Reese faces years in prison for aggravated assault

Lil Reese ended up in a Texas prison for the second time in several weeks on Wednesday (October 16). The Chicago rapper was booked for aggravated assault on a family member, according to Harris County online records.

The drill artist’s bond was set at $50,000. If convicted, he faces several years in prison.

Lil Reese, whose real name is Tavares Taylor, was accused of beating and choking his ex-girlfriend. He was arrested in September for aggravated assault, assault on a family or household member with a previous conviction, assault by obstruction of breath on a family member and violating his bond/protection order.

Authorities previously arrested Lil Reese two weeks after a warrant was issued for his arrest. His ex-girlfriend told police he attacked her at the Pinkhouse nightclub in Houston.

Lil Reese allegedly attacked his ex when she rebuffed his attempts to kiss her as she left the club. The incident happened about a month after they broke up.

The domestic violence case came to light a few months after Lil Reese was accused of rape. He was arrested in Los Angeles in July on suspicion of sexual assault and rape. He denied the accusations. The case was dismissed in August.
