The Board of Elections on Tuesday identified a problem at some polling sites in Queens.

At PS 164 in Flushing, voters reported problems scanning their ballots. We were told that the machines spit out the paper ballots and, in some cases, voters had to hand over the paper ballots.

The Electoral Board says an emergency container was used. It’s unclear how long exactly this went on, but the board says every vote will be counted.

The BOE issued a statement saying that “technicians were immediately dispatched and corrective action was taken. Out of an abundance of caution, we inspected all 290 sites in Queens.”

Voters have not been affected beyond additional attempts to scan their ballot or place it in the emergency bin as is protocol, the BOE said.

At PS 36 in the St. Albans area of ​​Queens, Eyewitness News found a steady line of voters Tuesday morning, but we’re told that line wasn’t moving as well before when the site first opened.

A poll worker tells us one of the computer tablets was not set up correctly for early voting. The Electoral Board had to send a technician to solve the problem. But workers at the site say this caused a problem for about an hour and a half as they were unable to “service the voter.”
