Drunk driver crashes pickup truck, then drunk passenger crashes again: BC RCMP

According to police, two drunk women crashed the same van into the same car parked in the same motel parking lot in Prince George, BC, last week.

Both women were arrested at the scene and given breathalyzer tests that indicated “significantly above the legal limit,” according to the corporal. Jennifer Cooper of the Prince George RCMP.

Officers were called to the parking lot around noon last Tuesday and when they arrived they found a black pickup truck jammed on its bumpers with a parked car.

Investigators determined that the van had crashed into the same vehicle twice in a short period of time, but with different drivers behind the wheel, Cooper said.

“Witnesses told police that after the first collision, the driver and passenger switched places in the vehicle,” he told CTV News.

“The second driver attempted to pull out of the parking lot and ended up hitting the same parked car that the original driver had already hit, as well as a witness.”

No one was injured during any of the collisions, authorities said.

The RCMP was unable to provide any details about what the women were doing before the crash or the nature of their relationship.

Both drivers were arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and were later given immediate driving bans and 90-day administrative driving bans.

They will be summoned to appear at a future court date, Cooper said.
