Man convicted of arson at abandoned building in Hanley

A man has been convicted of arson after a fire at an abandoned building in Stoke-on-Trent.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene at around 6am BST on Tuesday, between Ephraim Street and Paxton Street in Hanley.

Craig Dunlop, 41, of no fixed abode, was sentenced to four months in prison and a financial penalty of £154 at the North Staffordshire Justice Center on Thursday.

Seven crews had tackled the fire at its height.
