PHOENIX (AZ Family) — Election officials in Maricopa County are discussing final preparations before Election Day, with polls scheduled to close in less than 36 hours.

County officials will hold a news conference Monday afternoon to discuss expected voter turnout and ballot processing so voters know what to expect from in-person voting on Tuesday.

Last week, the county argued that more than one million early votes had been returned so far in the process, as local leaders also discussed election security and an increased police presence in the wake of political violence and threats throughout the Phoenix metro area and across the country.
