East Legon accident: Bishop Amoako’s son allegedly flaunted Jaguar’s speed while leading convoy

Elrad Amoako, the 16-year-old son of Bishop Salifu Amoako, appeared in court on November 1, 2024 in relation to his alleged role in the horror East Legon accident.

The teenager was said to have been behind the wheel at the time of the collision last month that claimed the life of 12 year old girlsJustine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh.

After Elrad’s appearance in Accra Family and Juvenile Court on November 1, 2024, new details have emerged about the East Legon accident.

During the court proceedings, prosecutors alleged that the 16-year-old was driving a convoy of three SUVs and wanted to show off the speed of his mother’s Jaguar F-Pace Sport.

According to Graphic Online, Elrad drove the Jaguar to A&C Mall with a friend, while two other friends traveled there in separate SUVs. They then traveled through East Legon, with Bishop Amoako’s son leading the way.

He pleaded not guilty to eight charges against him, including involuntary manslaughter.

The court sent Elrad to a juvenile correctional facility and ordered him to surrender his U.S. and Ghanaian passports. He is due back in court on November 7, 2024.

Joy Online also reported that Amoako will undergo a medical checkup today (November 4) and will be allowed access to medical care as needed.

About the East Legon accident

On October 12, 2024, Elrad Salifu Amoako attended the visit of his brother Elyon Amoako birthday party at an event center in East Legon.

He reportedly requested the keys to his mother’s Jaguar F-Pace Sport from Linda Bonsu Bempah, Amoako’s personal assistant. She was holding the keys for the preacher and is believed to have handed them to him.

Deputy State Attorney Ebenezer Yaw Acquah later described the accidentclaiming the 16-year-old crashed into the back of an Acura with enough force to send both cars into a wall opposite the intersection.

A power pole fell and both vehicles caught fire. While Elrad and his passenger managed to escape, the occupants of the Acura were trapped. Passersby tried to put out the flames, but the fire was out of their control.

Doctor shares Elrad’s UGMC medical report

YEN.com.gh He also reported that Dr. Fred Salawu, an orthopedic and trauma surgeon at the University of Ghana Medical Centre, released the son of Prophet Salifu Amoako, Elrad Salifu. Amoako medical report.

Dr Salawu shared details about the teenager’s injuries and stated that he was unfit for questioning in the case of his alleged reckless driving that resulted in the death of two 12-year-old girls in East Legon.
