Fans React to NFC North Division Race as Halfway Approaches

LAMBEAU FIELD, Wis. (WBAY) – The Packers may have lost Sunday’s showdown for control of the NFC North, but there is still plenty of time before a true winner is crowned.

The Detroit Lions reign supreme now, with wins over Green Bay and Minnesota, but four of the Packers’ next eight games are divisional games and the schedules for the rest of the NFC North look similar.

In a division considered the strongest in the league, that means nothing is really decided.

The NFC North is the only division in football without a team with a losing record. That means the Packers, Lions, Vikings and Bears all have a good shot at making the playoffs.

But who is the best in the division right now?

Well, some people say it’s lions.

“They have been dominating both sides of the ball. The offense doesn’t stop, the defense doesn’t stop. They are well trained. It seems they are convinced. Those guys are ready to go. They’re ready to go,” Vikings fan Levi Johnson said.

Others think they are Vikings.

“Find Jefferson as much as you can. It all comes down to Sam Darnold. Is this the real Sam Darnold or the Sam Darnold who was on the Jets? So they’re going to need him to play as well as he’s been playing,” said Marc Jarman, a Packers fan.

And we can’t leave the bears out of the conversation, especially as Caleb Williams looks to have a bright future.

“He has shown a promising man. I even had a conversation with my friend,” one Bears fan told us. “If we even end up in the playoffs, or the second round, maybe I’ll paint my nails too!”

The biggest question of all is: Who will be number one at the end of the season?

“If we talk about the NFC North, it will be the Lions, the Packers, one and two. It would have to be Vikings three, Chicago four,” Lions fan Brook Blohm said.

“We lost against the Lions. The Lions are probably the best team in the division,” said one fan.

“I don’t want to say it too loudly, but I think the Lions are the strongest team in the division,” one fan told us.

“As a Bears fan, we can go as two or whatever as long as those two wins are against the Packers,” another fan said.

If there’s one thing everyone we spoke to agreed on, it’s that the NFC North has a very competitive future ahead of it.
