PORTAGE TOWNSHIP, Minn. — A 55-year-old man was hospitalized after a rollover accident Sunday.

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office responded at 11:40 a.m. to a report of a vehicle rollover in the 5900 block of Crane Lake Road, according to a news release. A passerby found the vehicle in a ditch with the man trapped inside.

Officers and medical personnel removed the man from the vehicle and airlifted him to a local hospital. Authorities described his injuries as serious but not life-threatening and said there were no witnesses to the crash.

“The driver’s name is being withheld until the family is notified,” the statement said.

First responders and Buyck Fire Department, U.S. Border Patrol agents, Orr Ambulance and Fire Department, and Life Link medical flights assisted at the scene.
