Tyler, The Creator Slams Taylor Swift Fans For Examining Her Controversial Lyrics, Calling Them ‘Racist’

During his recent show in Boston, Grammy-winning rapper Tyler, the Creator, whose real name is Tyler Okonma, issued a “racist” warning Taylor Swift fans who have been dredging up his old, controversial lyrics from over a decade ago. While on stage, Tyler spoke openly about how ‘Swifties’ had complaints against him regarding the lyrics of his 2011 song, Tron Cat.

While Internet users unearthed violent, misogynistic and homophobic lyrics from several songs, one in particular that tyler mentioned was Torn Cat. He told the Swifties: “The Swifties got mad at me with their racist ass: bringing up old lyrics, bitch, go listen to ‘Tron Cat’, I don’t give a fuck, bitch.”

With his latest album CHROMAKOPIA, released on October 28, 2024, Tyler has been dominating various music charts while also being the talk of the town with his calligraphy and music production. The album also features a host of guest musicians including Daniel Caesar, Doechii, GloRilla, Lil Wayne, Childish Gambino, LaToiya Williams and more. However, this might have caused her beef with Taylor Swift fans.

Tyler told his audience, “(Swifties) will bring out the old me.”

Chromakopia hit the streaming charts almost instantly after its release. The artist was at the top of Spotify’s global chart for more than twenty-four hours until he fell back to second place behind Swift on Thursday.

In the song, Torn Cat, Tyler raps a line that caught the attention of the masses: “R*pe a pregnant bitch and tell my friends I had a threesome.” While the song has been available on all streaming platforms for over a decade, Swifties have suddenly turned their attention to it.

Swift’s fans began criticizing and reposting Tyler’s old lyrics after the rapper surpassed The Tortured Poets Department hitmaker for the first time this year on an international Spotify chart she had been leading all year. . A specific Swiftie fan account on X (formerly Twitter), which criticized Tron Cat’s words, received almost 270,000 likes.

In this particular lyric, Tyler raps about everyday violence that a section of fans described as stereotypically offensive lyrics. Another Taylor Swift fan mocked: “Her fans spent all that time saying she grew up on those lyrics and apologized, but here she is doubling down.”

However, Tyler The Creator’s Chromakopia is aiming for a strong debut on the Billboard 200 chart and could reportedly become his most-streamed and highest-charting album yet.
