Man attacked at Brandon Correctional Center

One man was taken to hospital after an attack at the Brandon Correctional Center last month.

The attack occurred on September 26 at the correctional center, located at 375 Veterans Way.

According to Brandon police, the victim was a 44-year-old man who was in police custody. He was flown to the Winnipeg Health Sciences Center because he was unconscious and suffered serious injuries.

Police reviewed the surveillance video and identified three suspects: a 34-year-old man and two 26-year-old men.

The suspects were arrested on Oct. 9 for aggravated assault at the Brandon Correctional Center. They appeared in court on October 10.

As of October 15, the victim is in serious condition in hospital.

The three suspects are in custody.
