The government on Saturday dismissed a Canadian minister’s allegations against the Union Home Minister as “absurd and baseless”. The representative of the Canadian High Commission was summoned on Friday and the official was given a note protesting the accusations.

At a press conference today, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said: “With regard to the latest Canadian target, yesterday we summoned the representative of the Canadian High Commission… The note conveys that the Government of the “India strongly protests terms to the absurd and baseless references made to the Union Home Minister of India before the Committee by Deputy Minister David Morrison.”
