A clever diner has shown off the impressive haul he got from a Too good to go bag at Toby Carvery, and social media users say they’re “jealous.” He the largest market in the world for surplus food, Too Good To Go pairs restaurants with diners eager to save money and reduce food waste.

People can buy mystery bags containing food that would otherwise have gone to waste, meaning you can score some real bargains using the app. And TikTok user @lifeatgully couldn’t wait to share her bargain experience after purchasing a Too Good To Go bag from Toby Carvery in Loughborough, for just £2.79.

In her video, she shared that what she got was advertised as a “breakfast surprise bag.” He realized there was actually a breakfast buffet when he walked into the popular pub chain. One of the staff members explained how they were going to fill the mystery box with items from the buffet.


When they handed him the box, he took it out and opened it while sitting on a wall in the parking lot, unable to wait to discover what was inside. And the content seemed worth it. It revealed a huge portion of breakfast treats including egg, hash browns, bacon, sausage and mushrooms. His only complaint was that it seemed to have “fatter than the actual musical.”

He asked people to comment if they thought it was worth it at £2.79. “That’s so much bigger and better than what I had a couple days ago,” one person said. Another wrote: “Oosh that looks good, beats my Weetabix.”


A third commenter said he was “jealous” of the haul, while several others called it “a good deal.” One more said: “I would have eaten it with my fingers if I didn’t have cutlery!”
