Early voting ends in Texas, citizens wait in long lines to vote

BEXAR CO. – Polls closed at 8 pm on Friday night.

Now, there are just four days left until Election Day.

At last check, nearly 57,000 people cast ballots in Bexar County on Friday.

Many of them waited in line for hours to avoid the rush on Tuesday.

Since the start of early voting just two weeks ago, more than 500,000 people in Bexar County have gone to the polls to cast their ballots for the upcoming election.

And, just like the first day, some voters stood in long lines to place their ballot in the ballot box.

Some said that even if Friday is the last day for early voting, their vote still counts.

“My children. It matters,” said Tiffany Richards. Especially for women.”

“It means a lot,” Rebecca DeLong said. “Especially because you never know what’s going on in a person’s life. It gives you the opportunity to vote. I need to make every vote count.”

Some voters we spoke to on those lines said they spent up to two hours waiting to turn in their ballots.

Despite that, the vote of everyone who was in line before the doors closed at 8 p.m. will be counted.

If you missed early voting, you’ll have to wait until the big day on Tuesday for another chance.
