PICKENS, SC (FOX Carolina) – The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office said a man was arrested after assaulting an employee at a Dollar General in Pickens on Friday.

According to the sheriff’s office, the incident occurred at the Dollar General located at 2505 Walhalla Highway at 10:50 am.

Officers said they were called to the scene of the assault, but the suspect had already left on foot before they arrived.

They searched the area, but could not find the suspect.

An investigation led to the suspect being identified as 39-year-old Darell Allen Findley of Anderson.

Findley was located in the area of ​​Terrapin Cross Road and arrested hours later, just before 7 p.m., on a charge of serious and aggravated assault and battery.

He is being held at the Pickens County Detention Center.
