Toilet facilities at a listed library building deemed “inadequate” will be improved if new plans are given the green light, a council has promised.

Ilkley Library’s toilets were “not providing the necessary service to all users”, according to Bradford Council.

As a result, he had applied for permission to make alterations to the Grade II listed building.

Under the proposals, the library’s toilets would be modified to make them more accessible for disabled users, while a small kitchen area would also be created at the rear of the building.
