Last week we posted fans to let you vote which high school football team in Sarasota County and Manatee County has the best helmet.

Well, the results are in.

After a week of voting, Out-of-Door Academy claimed the title of best cover in Sarasota County by obtaining 39% of the votes ahead of Booker with 19% and Venice with 17%.

In Manatee County, Manatee took the vote for best helmet with 55% followed by Lakewood Ranch with 17%.

We could leave it there, but that would mean we have two winners and it’s all about championships, so we’ll ask the question again: Which team has the best helmet in Sarasota and Manatee counties?

So this is a showdown between ODA and Manatee. It feels a bit like David versus Goliath in terms of the size of the school. Voting will continue until Tuesday, election day, at 10 a.m., when the winner will be crowned..
