Driver, 70, seriously injured after pickup truck crashes into highway sign in Missouri

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (KCTV) – A 70-year-old driver was seriously injured after his pickup truck ran off the road and crashed into a sign east of Warrensburg during an overnight collision.

He Missouri State Highway Patrol indicates that shortly before 11:15 pm on Wednesday, October 30, emergency crews were called to the area of ​​Highway 50 and Highway 13, east of Warrensburg, for reports of a single-vehicle collision.

When first responders arrived, they said they found Gordon J. Negus, 70, of Foristell, who was driving his 2021 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck east on the highway when he lost control of the vehicle.

State troopers said the pickup truck went off the left side of the road where it struck a traffic sign before coming to a stop. Negus, who was wearing a seat belt at the time, was taken to Western Missouri Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police officials indicated that the truck suffered minor damage and was towed from the scene. No further information has been released.
