Monster Hunter Wilds Arachnophobia Setting Makes Little Monsters Adorable

Monster Hunter Wilds fans who prefer not to deal with spiders are in luck, as the game’s arachnophobia toggle turns these creatures into something harmless and adorable.

There are still a few more months to go Monster Hunter Wilds is fully releasedbut there is already a lot of buzz thanks to the Capcom trailers that show some of the new features and additions players can expect to enjoy.

Aside from the Focus Mode and Seikret features we’ve seen so far in the trailers, the game apparently also has an arachnophobia accessibility option, as seen in a publish in X.

The way this works is that when enabled in the settings, small monsters and insect-like creatures will have their appearance altered. Instead of appearing in their original forms, they will turn into something much more harmless: slimes.

However, don’t let your guard down just because of his altered appearance. These adorable green blobs will continue to attack you anyway and the difficulty of your game will not be affected.

While that is the case, this feature is certainly a lifesaver for players who prefer a spider-free environment or simply want some of the creatures to appear less disturbing in the game.

The arachnophobia switch seems to be becoming more popular in video games lately. Hogwarts Legacy and Grounded are just a few examples of this feature; the latter allows you to customize the appearance of spiders with a slider, making them have fewer legs, no fangs, and more.

This addition is definitely welcome, given that it’s no secret that some of the creatures in the Monster Hunter franchise can look like they’re made entirely of nightmare fuel.

The game is currently entering its beta phase on PS5, and if you want to see for yourself, check out everything you need to know about how to participate in it and all weapons confirmed until now.
