Mike Tyson takes fierce approach in open training for Jake Paul fight

mike tyson rolled back the years with an aggressive approach in his open training for Friday’s fight with Jake Paulto the delight of the fans present.

The former heavyweight champion, 58, will box YouTube star Paul, 27, at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas, this week. The fight will be broadcast live on Netflix in an unprecedented move.

And before the controversial fight, Tyson’s first professional fight since 2005, “Iron Mike” and Paul took to the ring inside the Toyota Music Factory to bust out some moves for the fans.

Many videos of Tyson hitting pads have gone viral in recent years, with viewers often commenting that the American’s speed and power have remained intact.

And those attributes were on display at times during Tuesday’s open workout, with Tyson throwing most of his jabs and frequently backing his padman against the ropes to throw combinations.

However, the pair didn’t always seem to be on the same page, and Tyson occasionally seemed to throw different combinations than what was called.

It could have been due to the volume of the music inside Toyota Music Factory, but either way, the fans in attendance seemed to appreciate Tyson’s efforts.

Then, when asked what he had learned about himself during his training camp, Tyson said: “That I’m tougher than I thought, because when I took this fight and started training, I thought, ‘What the fuck? *Am I thinking of?’ But now that I finished the process, the fight is the party.”

Later that night, Paul held his own open workout, before saying he felt “sharp, powerful and explosive.” He promised: “It will be a short night for Mike.

“It’s not about how long you’ve been doing something, it’s about how well you do it. On Friday, people will see me outperform the person who’s been doing it their whole life. On Friday my dreams come true and my career begins (…) I will knock out Mike Tyson.”

The YouTube star has gone 10-1 (7 knockouts) as a professional boxer, scoring victories over numerous MMA fighters and lesser-known boxers.
