TOMPKINSVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) – A Monroe County man was arrested and charged Tuesday following an undercover investigation into Internet crimes against children, according to Kentucky State Police.

KSP reports that Robert Allen Tabor, 37, was charged with eight counts of distributing material depicting a minor in a sexual performance under the age of 12.

A statement states that an investigation by the KSP Electronic Crimes Division began after the suspect was found to be sharing images of child sexual exploitation online.

The investigation resulted in a search warrant in Tompkinsville, in which police say equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to the KSP laboratory for examination.

An investigation is underway and Tabor’s charges are class C felonies punishable by five to 10 years in prison. Tabor was taken to the Barren County Detention Center.
