BARRE, Vt. (WCAX) – Flood resilience was on the agenda at the Barre City Council meeting Tuesday night.

Councilors detailed a plan to upgrade the city’s current housing to flood-resistant standards and ensure new housing projects also meet those standards.

The plan also established ways to centralize information so that its progress is accessible and trackable.

The council will hold a six-month review of that progress in May and say they are considering incorporating flood resilience funds into the city budget. The plan was approved unanimously.
