Centralia City Council will consider workers’ compensation options Tuesday night

The Centralia City Council will consider options on its workers’ compensation insurance Tuesday night. City Manager Kory Smith says a proposal from his current vendor Illinois Counties Risk-Management was the lowest bid.

The council will also approve two resolutions to provide property tax refunds through the Raccoon Lake Tax Increment Financing District to Meadow Woods Holdings and Villas in Centralia Heritage Woods. Meadow Woods’ payout is $273,204 and Villas’ payout is $15,637.

The council will also be asked to approve a resolution from the Downtown Christmas Stroll Committee for the use of city property for its annual event on Friday night, Dec. 6.

A closed-door session is planned after the closing.

The meeting begins at six p.m. Tuesday night at Centralia City Hall.
