Actor Patrick Dempsey’s return to racing is documented in a new four-part series titled ‘Back on Track.’

The docuseries, developed by long-time RACER contributor Bobby Akin’s Mechanical Rabbit Productions team, is the latest racing project from former RACER columnist Dempsey, and takes viewers behind the scenes as he tackles the Porsche Endurance Challenge North America in his Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport.

“It’s been an exciting project to work on,” said Patrick Dempsey. “I really enjoyed meeting Patrick Long. We have had a great season and we hope to finish strong in Austin.”

The docuseries follows the No.98 Wright Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport of Dempsey and teammate Long through the 2024 racing season, starting at COTA and making stops at Road America and Sonoma before returning to COTA for a six-hour endurance race as the finale.

Dempsey’s racing achievements include a second place in the GTE Am class at Le Mans in 2015 and a third place in the GT class at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2011. Long, another Porsche ambassador, has a rich career in races which includes victories in 24 races. Hours of Le Mans, the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring.

Back on Track also features drift and rallycross legend Tanner Foust, who was making his debut in a sanctioned sports car series.
