Solon man pleads guilty to killing his father

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A 34-year-old Solon man has pleaded guilty to killing his father.

Robert Gullia pleaded guilty to manslaughter, felonious assault and offenses against a human corpse.

Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Michael Shaughnessy sentenced Gullia to a minimum of 20 years and a maximum of 25.5 years at the Lorain Correctional Institution.

At around 10:50 a.m. on November 22, 2023, the victim’s wife called 911 to report that her husband, Theodore Gullia, 65, was not breathing.

When officers arrived at the home in the 34700 block of Sherwood Dr., they found Gullia deceased with “visible injuries to the head and other areas.”

Robert was arrested at the scene.

Police added that Robert had spent the previous night alone at home with his father and had attacked him with an object.
