Ahead of FBI: International’s Dangerous Undercover episode, star Christina Wolfe shares the ‘big question’ fans should be asking about Tate

FBI: International is on its way back to CBS in the fall TV schedule 2024 after taking a week off following Wes’ emotional revelationand the Fly Team member, who is usually the safest, will be in danger in the new episode on November 12. Amanda Tate, who is usually using your skills as an analyst to help the team from Budapest, he goes undercover to investigate a DEA agent in Spain. I spoke with actress Christina Wolfe about what’s coming up and she shared the question fans should be asking and the setting in Madrid.

The new episode on November 12 (which will be available to stream through Supreme Subscription+) is called “The Unwinnable War.” The deputy inspector general asks Tate to go to the field for a Undercover operation to investigate a DEA agent. that could just be dirty. Undercover work is nothing new for most of the team, but how prepared is the analyst for the challenges? Christina Wolfe shared:

How prepared is she? She is not very prepared. (laughs) She hasn’t received official training, but I guess how capable she is is the big question in this episode. Can he achieve it? It’s a big task, and Wes tells her at the beginning that she can pass it if she wants, so she makes the decision that she’s capable and can do it, and then goes ahead with it.

Amanda Tate may be willing, but being prepared is not so guaranteed! The agent is incomparable as a team analyst; hasn’t been tested when it comes to what “The Unwinnable War” has in store for her. When I noted that Tate doesn’t seem like someone who would just let something difficult go if given the chance, Wolfe responded:

At all. Tate is very motivated and I think she is very confident about her abilities on the team and I think she is also driven. She says it herself – I don’t know if it was actually in the final draft of the script – but she says she has a bit of resentment, and if someone tells her she can’t do something, then she’s going to want to do it. It is important to him to feel that he is up to the task and that others think so too, that they trust him with these cases.

It should be interesting to see what the dynamic between Tate and Wes is like in this episode, since their previous field work in season 3 with Raines occurred when Forrester was still the leader of the Fly team. So why is Tate the one going undercover when the rest of the Fly Team has more experience in the field? You’ll have to tune in to the episode for all the details, but your fluency in Spanish will be key. Christina Wolfe grew up in Spain and had only good things to say about how FBI: International He is making good use of his Spanish. She told me:

I think it’s really clever how they put it into the scripts, because there were some moments in the previous season where Tate spoke some Spanish, but in this one, he’s actively using it to solve the case, which I think is really interesting. Watch and fun for me to play. And also that they set it in Spain and Madrid, precisely, which is where I grew up. Unfortunately, we didn’t actually fly there. When I read the episode I thought: ‘My God, I’m going back to Madrid! This is really cool!’ (Laughs) And then they said, ‘No, we’re faking Madrid in this one,’ but it was still incredible. Really very fun.

FBI: International He often travels to the locations where the episodes take place, including Filming last season’s big Smitty episode in London.. This time, however, Budapest will do the double for Spain. Wolfe praised the show for pulling it off and shared the only part of the episode he filmed off set:

The production team did a good job of finding locations that worked like Madrid. I was really impressed. Most of it was actually in Budapest, but there was one city we went to… that was dressed up to look like Madrid. In fact, I drove there. It’s a little far from Budapest, but I drove there to film a scene where I opened a door. (laughs) That was my most adventurous place yet.

Fortunately, fans don’t have to wait much longer to see Tate tackle his first undercover job with the Fly Team, as “The Unwinnable War” airs Tuesday, November 12 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS. For a sample of the danger you face as a “honey” in a honey trapping operation, watch the promo below:
