Thirteen days after Murder of beautician Anita Choudhary in Jodhpur.Rajasthan, tensions persist between his family and the police over his autopsy. Anita’s body, discovered on October 30, is still at AIIMS, and her family refuses to allow the police to conduct the autopsy.

Anita’s family is protesting at the Veer Teja temple in Kudi Bhagtasni, calling for a police investigation into other possible suspects, a compensation of Rs 1 million, a CBI probe and action against the officers they accused of mishandling the case.

Deputy Deputy Commissioner of Police Sunil K Pawar has issued 11 notices to the family, seeking statements and cooperation of witnesses, but the relatives have not responded.

On Monday night, police escorted the main accused, Ghulamuddin, also known as Gul Mohammad, to the spot where Anita’s body was found, with an aim to reconstruct the crime.

Beautician Anita Choudhary was murdered in the last week of October. His body was cut into six pieces and buried near Ghulamuddin’s residence.

During interrogation, Gulamuddin said that he lured Anita to his house on October 27, on the pretext of introducing her to an influential person. He confessed that he killed her for her jewelry. However, police expressed skepticism about the admission, pointing to the involvement of other possible suspects. He and his wife are currently in police custody.

Police also recovered the suspected murder weapon, a four-foot knife used to dismember the body, according to police officer Dilip Singh Shekhawat.

The investigation indicated that on October 27, Anita was given a drink with a sedative, rendering her unconscious. The accused then took away her gold jewellery. When she didn’t wake up the next morning, he reportedly killed her with a hammer before dismembering her body and burying her remains.
