A decision is due to be made on controversial changes to the operating times of bus lanes on a main road into Exeter.

Councilors had planned to operate the bus lane on Fore Street in Heavitree for 12 hours, but some traders said it could force them to close.

The Highways and Traffic Orders Committee (HATOC) will consider revised proposals on Tuesday for the bus lane to operate from 7am to 10am and 4pm to 7pm, Monday to Saturday.

Campaigners in favor of extending operating times have urged the committee to consider other options, such as a 12-hour bus lane with exemptions for deliveries.
