Teens wearing Rickards High School band uniforms involved in crash Monday morning, Tallahassee police say

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A woman and a teenager from Rickards High School were killed in a crash Monday morning in east Tallahassee, according to Tallahassee Police.

TPD confirmed shortly after 2:40 p.m. Monday that two teenagers involved in the accident “were wearing Rickards High School band uniforms” at the time of the incident.

Police said the crash occurred shortly before 9 a.m. at East Tennessee Street and North Franklin Boulevard.

A pickup truck was traveling east on East Tennessee Street when police said it lost control, went over the median and collided with a sedan traveling west on East Tennessee Street.

The woman inside the sedan died from her injuries, according to TPD. Two teenagers who were also inside the sedan were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

However, one of the young men died from his injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck was treated at the scene, according to the TPD news release.
