“Pink Skies” was released in May as the lead single from The great American bar scene. At the time, Bryan dismissed any fan speculation about his life, but remained vague.

“’Pink Skies’ was not inspired by my story. Every time I sing about someone dying, people assume it’s my mother, but this definitely wasn’t it,” Bryan shared via X. (Bryan’s mother, Annette, died in 2016.) “I think all the dynamics in families are beautiful, interesting and generationally it’s something that’s really cool.”

Bryan has been making headlines lately after announcing on October 22nd. that he and LaPaglia broke up after a year together. LaPaglia claimed she was “shocked” by the public nature of their breakup.

After their separation, LaPaglia has left public with explosive accusations that she was in a emotionally abusive relationship with the singer. She alleged on an episode of the “BFFs” podcast last week that Bryan attempted to give her a $12 million payout if she signed a confidentiality agreement regarding their relationship experiences. She refused the money. (Us weekly has reached out to Bryan’s team to learn about all the allegations made in the podcast).
