Brother Ali has been a fixture in the underground rap scene for decades. Ali currently resides in Istanbul, but emerged alongside Atmosphere and that group’s expanded Minneapolis circle. He is a fascinating figure, a legally blind Muslim convert with albinism, blessed with a booming preacher’s voice and a gift for strident self-examination. Over the years, he has built a solid catalog. Now, he has announced satisfied soula new album produced entirely by Ant, the producing half of Atmosphere.

satisfied soul will be out early next year and has no guest rappers. Ant, who released his own solo debut. Sound Collection: Volume 1 At the beginning of this year, he is in charge of all production. There is a good amount of live instrumentation on the LP and “Bad and BoujeeCo-producer G Koop contributes heavily. Along with the announcement, Ali Hams shared five of the album’s 17 songs and they showcase the musical chemistry Ali and Ant have always shared. Of the five, I really like the contemplative psych-rock bap of “Head Heart Hands,” but they are worth a listen. Check out those songs and the LP’s track listing below.
