Just weeks after celebrating their fourth anniversary, Sello revealed that he and his wife, Pearl Maake kaNcube, are headed for divorce.

The news came as a complete surprise to the South African public as Sello and Pearl had earned a reputation as one of Mzansi’s favorite couples. Things ended in tears, according to Sello. TshisaLive about the details of his and Pearl’s marriage, revealing that he has served Pearl with a protective order, which she did not take well. “She took the protection order, read it and threw it on the floor saying she was not going to sign it. Then he told me that ‘he will show me a ghost,’ Sello explained to the publication.

Despite multiple public appearances and celebrating their fourth wedding anniversary last month, Sello also revealed that they have been living apart since last year. He points to Pearl as the source of the conflict in their marriage and reveals that Pearl has controlled everything the public has seen on social media. She allegedly falsely presents Sello as a happy man, while he has been miserable since the beginning of the marriage.

“I have never been a problem in my marriage. My wife has been the problem. She managed the social networks. Everything that was on social media, every headline that was written, was written by her. I think I have a few that I suggested… but all of them, 99.9% were written by her. She managed social media and they presented me as someone happily married when in reality I was living a hellish life.”

Pearl has stated that, although she will not contest the divorce, she would like to keep the Blue Valley home, the two cars the couple owns, and any financial gains as of October 2021.

“I am married to this man on an accrual basis, so everything he owns is mine and his. We have two cars, a Porsche and a Mercedes. When we went to buy the car, I agreed to put it in his name because he is my husband. If something had to end, you either stay with the Porsche or the Mercedes,” says Pearl. TshisaLive.

Upon hearing the news, Mzansi encouraged the Department of Home Affairs to intervene as Sello will now be going through her third divorce. Netizens criticized the situation and suggested that Sello should not be allowed to remarry because he has exhausted all his possibilities.
