A woman has died and two people have been seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident.

Police said two vehicles collided on the A6 Wilstead Hill, at Haynes, near Shefford, Bedfordshire, at around 17:20 GMT on Saturday.

Bedfordshire Police also said several people were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Sergeant Dan Newton said: “This was a tragic incident in which a woman sadly died and two other people suffered serious injuries. Our thoughts are with their friends and family at this difficult time.”
