A national service of remembrance is being held to commemorate those who lost their lives in the conflict.

Military personnel paraded past Cardiff Town Hall on their way to the ceremony at the National War Memorial of Wales in Cathays Park.

First Minister Eluned Morgan, one of those attending, said before the service: “The memorial service remains as important as ever as we come together to honor the Welsh men and women who sacrificed their lives to secure the freedom we enjoy. today.”

Parades and services are also held throughout Wales, including Ceredigion, Gwynedd, Powys, Swansea and Wrexham.
