EL SERENO, Calif. (KCAL/KCBS) – Police detained a naked man after he was discovered living underneath a 93-year-old grandmother’s home in Los Angeles.

The grandmother, who lives alone, told her relatives that she had been hearing noises under her house for months. His grandson said he thought it was probably an animal.

But when the family heard loud bangs coming from beneath the house Thursday night, they called the police. Officers arrived and found a man under the house. He initially refused to come out, but finally turned himself in hours later.

The victim’s grandson said officers found blankets and food under the house and believe the man came in at night and came out in the morning.
